Goodreads Synopsis:

Based on a tabby cat with unusually large ears called Jimi, this is a story about two unlikely friends. The story takes you on a farm yard adventure and features an unexpected twist in the music. Written, composed and narrated by Anna-Christina, ‘Jimi & his friend Joe’ is the fourth audio book produced by Anna-Christina and producer/engineer Adie Hardy of Busy Bees Publishing.

The story includes an original classical soundtrack with an unexpected twist. Character voices by Anna-Christina and Adie Hardy. Rob Stitch (singer of Rhino) as Jimi the cat, Susie Lewis (you may have seen Susie as Harriet in the Play Colder Than Here) as Moorerag the Border Collie and Tom
Meadows (you can find him touring the world drumming for some of today's biggest artists such as Kylie Minogue) as Piggy the Pig and drums. Accompanied by unique sound effects throughout.

My Thoughts:

Jimi is a large-eared Tabby cat who lives on a farm and is friends with all the farm animals except the collies who think they are too good to be friends with anyone who is different from them. Along to the farm comes a new collie named Joe.

Jimi and His Friend Joe is a delightful audio story filled with sound effects, a classical soundtrack and actors for each of the voices. The stories are descriptive and entertaining. The voices are full of appropriate enthusiasm and emotion. Anna-Christina wrote the story and provides the narration.

I especially enjoyed the theme of Jimi and His Friend Joe as it deals with friendship and cooperation even through differences which are important things for young children to learn. The stories from Music Audio Stories are geared for children aged 3 to 7.

This story is one that young children will find very engaging and will want to listen to over and over again. I give it 5 stars out of 5.

Thank you to the author for providing this audio story in exchange for a fair and honest review. A positive opinion was not required. All thoughts are my own.

About the Author:

Anna-Christina's musical career began when she won a scholarship to attend The Royal Ballet School aged 11. Although she trained to become a classical ballet dancer, music became a large part throughout her 12 years of training. She began playing the piano and cello aged 12 and wrote her first full orchestral piece when she was 14. One of her first classical piano compositions met with the approval of the then director of music, Richard Blackford (the british TV, Film, Opera and Emmy Award nominated composer) and was chosen for a music competition to represent the school. Little did they know that she had never had a piano lesson in her life, Anna-Christina is a self taught pianist!
She excelled in composition and performed at places like The Royal College of Music and St Paul's Church. After some time as a professional dancer, she turned her full attention to her music. She graduated from college where she studied Sound Engineering with a Distinction, gained a Diploma in Sound and Music Technology and a BTEC HNC in Music Production. She has written and produced five classical Cds of music for TV, Film and commercial use.
